DAAT clients knockout their competition
A group of service users and volunteers from Oldham’s drugs and alcohol services competed against other teams from DAATs across Greater Manchester in an ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition last week.
The competition was organised, and hosted by Salford DAAT and aims to develop client’s teamwork skills whilst having fun. It also gives individuals the chance to meet other people with whom they may share similar experiences with.
The day constituted of teams from local DAAT’s competing in a range of activities, from a music quiz to an assault course, and even a ski race.
Oldham DAAT Business Manager Perry Gunn commented ‘“We are very pleased to support initiatives such as the It’s a Knockout Competition, which encourages personal health and fitness along with social integration and a sense of “team spirit” all of which assist our clients in their road to recovery.’
The team, made up of 11 clients and volunteers came third overall.
