WORRIED ABOUT SOMEONE?

Are you worried that someone you know, or care for, is misusing drugs or alcohol? Drugs and alcohol don't just affect the individuals who use them, they can also have a big impact on the lives of family and friends. As such, there are a range of services available in Oldham that offer understanding and support for families and friends who are affected by the substance misuse of others:

24Hr Freephone Help Line
This free phone confidential helpline is available to individuals affected by their own substance misuse or the substance misuse of others.

Concerned Others Group
This group provides a support and advice service to families and concerned others whose lives have been affected by substance misuse.

Development Worker
This post provides support to parents/carers on a one to one and group basis.

Email Enquiries
Send a confidential email enquiry to a member of the Oldham Drug and Alcohol Action Team, who will endeavour to respond to your enquiry within 24 hours.

Family Worker
This post provides support to pregnant women and parents/ carers (including grandparents) with children under 5 who have alcohol/drug use needs.

Grandparents and Parents Support Group
Oldham DAAT is currently developing support mechanisms for grandparents or parents who may have been affected by substance misuse in their families.

Local Service Directory
This service directory outlines the wide range of treatment options on offer in Oldham. The directory has been produced for drug users, their families and friends, as well as for tier 1- 4 professionals.

Oasis@Connexions
Oasis@Connexions provides a service for parents/carers of young people under 19 who may be using/misusing drugs and alcohol. The service also supports young people who have a significant person in their life who is using or misusing substances.

Oldham Carers Centre
Oldham Carers Centre can offer you free and impartial support if you are a Carer and over 18 years of age.
