| Needle Exchanges Needle Exchanges are places where injecting drug users can obtain free sterile injecting equipment (works) without too many awkward questions being asked. Users are encouraged to return their used injecting equipment within their personal 'sharps' containers for safe disposal, to ensure that they aren't going to cause a problem in the community and lead to someone being injured/ infected.
